Having just finished his 4th season as a professional baseball player in the Colorado Rockies organization, RHP Devin Burke wrapped up 2016 with the AA Hartford Yard Goats; he had a 5-6 record, a 3.48 ERA, and a 1.15 WHIP at the AAA, AA, and A- levels, combined. A college standout at Virginia Tech, in 2013 Devin tossed 104 innings, winning 11 games; he was named to the NCAA Blacksburg Regional All-Tournament Team and was a semifinalist for the Gregg Olson Award (National Comeback Player of the Year). A three-year letter winner at Darien High School, Devin posted a 1.75 ERA with 104 strikeouts in 64 innings as a senior. He threw one no-hitter and five one-hitters while batting .449. As a senior, Devin was named MVP of the Connecticut High School All-Star Team and All-FCIAC East First Team as a junior and senior. In his high school career, he was 17-12 with a 2.03 ERA and 307 strikeouts in 213 innings.
Currently, Devin is returning for his 2nd year as an instructor at BVSA and also serves as Pitching Coach for the CT Blue Jays 16-U Fall Baseball Team. Devin looks forward to spending his off-season imparting his extensive pitching knowledge at the collegiate and professional levels to the next generation of baseball players now coming up through the ranks.
