Here's what BVSA is doing!

BVSA is committed to staying open with safety as the number one priority.  See below for updates about what you can expect when you come to BVSA.  Anything we have below is to be superseded by CDC(click here)OSHA(click here) and CT.Gov(click here) guidelines.

Lessons

    • Last ten minutes of lesson will be used for review, some type of dynamic movement and sanitizing the equipment.
    • All lessons will operate with 4 or less athletes.
    • Parents may use zoom or face-time to watch lesson on their mobile device

Team Practices

    • All team activities are paused until January 2021
    • Coaches will be in touch regarding an updated plan for each program

League Play

    • All indoor BVSA league activities are paused until January 2021
    • Directors will be in touch regarding updated plans for each program

Fitness Training

    • Still operating with modifications 
    • Group classes will be reduced to 4 or less, as long as appropriate space is available
    • Scheduling must be done in advance via MindBody

Front Entrance

    • Athletes only allowed in the building during the initial reopening phase
      • Athletes under the age of 9 may be accompanied by an adult
    • New sanitization stations at the front door and outside of each bathroom
    • Sanitization stations will include:
      • alcohol wipes
      • gloves
      • disposables masks for those who need them
    • Signage to direct everyone to our protocols
    • Arrows on the ground to direct walking flow inside facility
    • Barrier in between front desk staff and customers
    • Payments will be made over the phone
    • Concession stand and FirstGlance Box Break will be closed during initial reopening phase
    • Donation boxes will also be closed during the initial reopening phase

Bathrooms

    • Hand sanitizer at each door. 
    • Signs for mandatory glove use in bathrooms.  Dispose when exiting
    • Box of wipes on top of each toilets and next to urinals
    • Professional, daily cleaning crew.  Cleaning and sanitizing.

In and Out

    • Front door is an entrance only
    • Exit through breezeway doors
    • Re-enter lobby/instant replay via ramp only
    • Doors from lobby to big space will remain open at all times
    • Garage doors to remain open as often as possible
    • Signs and tape on floor directing traffic

Employees

    • Front desk staff wearing masks
    • Instructors wear masks other than when significantly social distanced
    • BVSA staff resuming on-premise work will confirm they have not experienced COVID-19 CDC-defined symptoms and will monitor their own symptoms, including cough, shortness of breath, or any two of the following symptoms:
      • Fever
      • Chills
      • Repeated shaking with chills
      • Muscle pain
      • Headache
      • Sore throat
      • New loss of taste or smell
    • All coaches will be given their own bucket of balls.  
    • Only instructors will touch the balls other than when pitching or doing drills that require the student to throw. 
    • Ball pick up by instructors only.  Athletes can help kick balls to one spot to help with pickup. 
    • Employees shall stay home if sick.

Big Space

    • We have limited our the seating
    • Tape on floor directing traffic to exit and Instant Replay
    • Tape lines on ground designating chair locations
    • Signs on turf area nets describing sq. footage policies
    • Sanitization stations will be positioned throughout
    • Additional garbage receptacles will be placed
    • Water fountain for bottle filling only
    • TV’s programmed to scroll policies, procedures and protocols
    • Garage doors will be open as much as possible to promote outdoor airflow

Cages

    • Shower curtain type plastic hanging down at both ends of the cage
    • Similar type application along cage 1 separating OverDrive
    • Balls will be wiped down with a sanitizer between every lesson/clinic.
    • Home plate, baskets, tees etc. get wiped down between every lesson/clinic.
    • 1 to 1 coach to player ratio during the first phase of the pandemic
