Glenn grew up in New City and attended Clarkstown North HS where he was a two-way player and three-year varsity starter. He was a two-time All-County selection and 1980 Rockland County Player-of-the-Year. Glenn went on to play baseball at Duke University as a primary pitcher. After his freshman year he transferred to Columbia University where he was a two-year captain, earned All-Ivy, All-State, and Academic All-American 1st Team honors. Glenn still is in the top 10 in several offensive categories at Columbia. He earned a BA, BS in Mechanical Engineering, and MS in Industrial Engineering from Columbia.
During college, Glenn set ACBL season records with 9 triples and 4 grand-slams one summer while playing for Jersey City Pilots. After college, Glenn signed with the California Angels and played three years in the Angels’ and Twins’ organizations, winning the Midwest League championship in 1987.
Glenn has coached 7U through High School and has stayed involved in baseball since retiring from professional baseball in 1988. He has also been a private instructor, teaching both pitching and hitting for several years. Glenn enjoys mentoring young athletes and integrating mental preparation and approach into his lessons. He also enjoys discussing college options and providing academic counseling to high school student-athletes.
Glenn has worked for Con Edison since 1988 and currently holds the position of General Manager, Gas Operations after a stint as General Manager, Electric Operations during which time he was Incident Commander for many storms including Hurricanes Irene and Sandy.
Glenn currently resides in Stamford with wife Ilana. Ilana is a certified Homeopath. Glenn and Ilana have four children, Ricky, Mackenzie, Paxton, and Waverly. Ricky studied Engineering at Cornell University and Mackenzie studied fashion design at Syracuse University; both graduated in 2018. Paxton is attending Brown University and is a pitcher on the baseball team. Waverly is attending Wesleyan University and is a defender on the soccer team.
