The Bobby Valentine Sport Show: Episode 34

Hello everybody and welcome back to another episode of The Bobby Valentine Sport Show. I’m your host Frank Ramppen like always and let’s get into week 18, the final week of the regular season. As you can tell back at my college apartment, back here for my last semester of my senior year. Sounds weird for me to say it but yeah that’s where we’re at. Episode 34, week 18, final week of the NFL season. Let’s roll right into it with our weekly recap and like I said a million times already, final week of the NFL season which means the playoff matchups have been released, the positions of the playoffs for all teams, and the matchups have been finalized.

Lots of stats and records broken, almost broken, lots of numbers in this last week 18, so a lot of stats for you coming from my end. Make sure to keep you updated with the players that broke records, were close to breaking records, and got them incentives. So play of the week like we always do. This one comes from the New Orleans Saints/Atlanta Falcons game. This game was back and forth for a while before New Orleans kind of broke it open, won by a lot. There was a controversial play at the end where it looked like the Saints were going to take a knee but they did not. They ran it with Jamaal Williams, his first touchdown of the year. Little backstory behind that, Jameis Winston said that that was on the team not called by Dennis Allen. Arthur Smith was not happy with Dennis Allen after the game. Apparently, Dennis Allen didn’t make the call so Jameis Winston and the Saints went ahead and did it on their own. Was not happy but early in the game, still in a contest, ball game here 17-17 here in the third quarter. Second and 10 from the 26 yd line for the Saints. Derek Carr gets a snap, drops back in the pocket, lofts one down the right sideline to the end zone for Chris Olave who juggles it twice, bobbles it again, then makes an unreal catch and run it around all crazy fired up unbelievable play from Derek Carr and Chris Olave. Great throw, great catch. And look at this, the ball’s kind of around the defender, he wraps his arms around him, pops it up, almost goes out of bounds, pops it back towards the field of play, right back to himself, caught for the touchdown. Unbelievable play by Chris Olave. Here’s another angle, tips it up, tips it again, secures it, two feet, three feet, four feet, five feet in bounds for sure a catch there. What a play from the Saints, Chris Olave and Derek Carr. Our play of the week from the final week of the NFL comes from that game. That game ended up being 48 to 17, so that made it 24 to 17. The Saints ended up winning 48 to 17, so that was just the start of the opening of the floodgates for the Atlanta Falcons defense.

So the NFL season is wrapped up and the final game of the NFL season was Sunday Night Football between the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins in Miami. Whoever wins the game wins the division, the AFC East, prime-time football. We got an unbelievable game, last game of the NFL season of 2023 will be our game of the week, last game of the week of the regular season. Bills/Dolphins, so here we go, we’re going to pick it up and the first drive of the game here for the Dolphins, first drive of the game for either team actually.
