You Apply. Coaches Decide.

This isn’t a clinic. It’s a program you earn your way into. Three steps — only the first is open to the public.

1

Book Evaluation Day

By appointment starting May 1, 2026. One pitcher at a time, on the mound, with Coach Jon and BVSA staff. Rapsodo and radar capture a real baseline — velocity, spin, command, mechanics.

After your evaluation, coaches review every report and choose the Founding Class. If you’re a fit, you’ll receive a personal invitation. If not, we’ll tell you exactly what to work on and when to come back.

Four Weeks. Four Pillars.

Built around what keeps pitchers healthy and consistent through a long season.

🦵

Lower-Half Mechanics

The base of every pitch. Hip-shoulder separation, drive leg loading, stride direction. Where velocity is actually built — and where most arm injuries start.

💪

Upper-Half Mechanics

Arm path, glove side, finish. Cleaning up the sequence so velocity transfers without leaking — and the same motion shows up on every pitch.

Throwing Program + Bullpens

Structured ramp-up, intent throws, and live bullpens. Rapsodo sessions through the program for pitch design — spin axis, efficiency, induced break — plus radar checkpoints to track velocity gains.

🩹

Shoulder Maintenance & Arm Care

The work that lets you finish the season as strong as you started. Cuff work, scap stability, and recovery protocols built from nine pro seasons of staying on the mound.

Pro Experience

You’re not getting a parent volunteer or a college student. You’re getting nine seasons of Phillies, Mets, and Puerto Rican Winter League experience.

The Stuff You Want to Know

Who can apply?

Any pitcher age 10 and up — beginner to travel-team to high-school varsity. The evaluation is open to everyone. The Founding Class is selected by Coach Jon based on what he sees that day, not based on level coming in.

What happens at Evaluation Day?

You’ll get one-on-one mound time with Coach Jon and BVSA staff. We capture a real baseline using Rapsodo and radar — velocity, spin rate, induced break, command, plus mechanical video. Every athlete leaves with a written report regardless of selection.

What if my pitcher isn’t selected for the Founding Class?

You’ll receive a personal note from Coach Jon explaining exactly what to work on and when to come back. Most pitchers who don’t make it the first time aren’t far off — and we’d rather you train for the next class than buy your way into one you’re not ready for.

Why can’t I sign up directly for the program?

Because what works for a 12-year-old with a clean delivery isn’t what works for a 16-year-old chasing 90. The evaluation lets us build the right group of six athletes — pitchers who’ll push each other, fit Jon’s plan, and walk out of June stronger than they walked in.

What’s tracked, and do I get the data?

Rapsodo for spin rate, spin efficiency, spin axis, and induced break. Radar for velocity. Mechanical video at high frame rate. We use Rapsodo at the evaluation and at structured checkpoints throughout the program — not on every single pitch — so the numbers we share are clean and actually mean something. You’ll get a written report after the evaluation and a session-by-session summary if you’re in the Founding Class.

What’s your refund policy on the $30 evaluation?

Full refund if cancelled 48+ hours before your appointment. Inside 48 hours we’ll do our best to reschedule you. Email info@bvacademy.com or call (203) 968-2872.

When does the Founding Class meet?

Four weeks starting June 1, 2026. Two sessions per week at BVSA’s 40,000 sq ft facility in Stamford, CT. Selected athletes will receive an invitation with full schedule and onboarding details.
